Planox® clutches were designed to be installed on diesel motors.
There are different versions which are actuated mechanically, pneumatically and hydraulically.
DESCH-Planox® friction clutches are switchable, dry friction couplings which transfer the torque by friction. These clutches make it possible to accelerate the working machine or group of machines quickly, and reliably transmit the torque. Machines coupled with friction clutches are protected from damage caused by peaks in torque, which can occur during operation or switching sequences.

DESCH Centrex® - clutches
The Centrex® series are dry-running friction starting and safety clutches which automatically engage and disengage, depending on the rotational speed. As standard, they are manufactured in 7 sizes supporting torques up to 4500 Nm. The Centrex® centrifugal clutch has decisive advantages as a starting clutch, when the drive machine has to accelerate large rotational masses or has to start overcoming a load torque. When stopped and during the start-up period, the motor and the working machine are completely separated from one another until the preset rotational speed is reached where the clutch engages.
The Centrex® centrifugal clutch only transmits torque when the present rotational speed is exceeded. During operation, the Centrex® centrifugal clutch protects the components of the machine from damage caused by overload and separates the drive from the working machine if the drive machine jams.
